Recipes:Chicken Biryani

Chicken Biryani

Ingredients

  • 4 Onions - Medium size
  • 600g - 650g Chicken - Broiler - Small - 8 pcs.
  • 400g Rice - Basmati
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 2 teaspoons Ginger Garlic Paste (Adrakh Lehsun Paste)
  • 2 teaspoons Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch Powder)
  • 2 teaspoons Biryani Masala
  • As per taste Salt
  • 2-3 teaspoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Mint Leaves (Pudiney ke Patte)
  • 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves (Hara Dhania) - chopped
  • 6 Green Chillies (Hari Mirch) - cut from centre in two long strips
  • 2 Bay Leaves (Tej Patta)
  • 2 Green Cardamom (Choti Hari Elaichi)
  • 2 Black Cardamom (Badii Kali Elaichi)
  • 4 Cloves (Laung)
  • 8 Black Peppercorn (Sabut Kali Mirch)
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Bark (Dalchini)
  • 2 litres Water
  • Small Muslin Cloth
  • 100 grams Butter - melted
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking Oil
  • 1/2 cup Milk (luke warm)
  • 2-3 drops Food Color - Orange
  • 1 inch Ginger - Julienned (cut into long thin strips)
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Kewra Jal
  • 12" x 18" Food Wrapping Aluminium Foil

Making

  1. Cut Onions into Slices and Fry till Golden Brown. Don't Burn. Keep aside for use.
  2. Wash and Clean the Chicken pieces. Poke the Chicken pieces with a Fork.
  3. Take a Glass Bowl, add Chicken pieces, Curd, Ginger Garlic Paste, Red Chillies, Biryani Masala, Salt as per taste, Lemon Juice, few Mint Leaves, one fourth part of onions fried earlier and mix well. Apply the mix well on and around all the pieces of Chicken. Cover the Bowl and place it in a Refrigerator for Thirty minutes.
  4. Wash and soak the Rice in Water for Thirty minutes.
  5. Add and tie in a Muslin Cloth; the Bay Leaves, Green Cardamom, Black Cardamom, Cloves, Black Peppercorn and Cinnamon.
  6. Boil Water in a Pan. Add and mix half a teaspoon of Salt into it. Put the tied Muslin Cloth Bag into the Boiling Water.
  7. Drain the soaked Rice and add it to the Boiling Water. Parboil (Partially Boil) the Rice. Don't Overcook. When parboiled, Drain the excess Water from the Rice and let it dry.
  8. Take out the Marinated Chicken from the Refrigerator.
  9. Take a Pan with a thick bottom. Add Two Tablespoons of Cooking Oil in it and heat it on a slow flame for two minutes.
  10. Add Marinated Chicken Pieces into it. Cook the Chicken on medium flame. Stir well but gently. Add One to Two tablespoons of water, if it appears dry. The Chicken will be cooked in Fifteen to Twenty minutes. Remove from flame and keep aside.
  11. Take another large Pan with a thick bottom. Add and arrange a layer of cooked pieces of Chicken on the bottom of the Pan with a little Gravy. Then, spread and cover the Chicken pieces with half the parboiled rice.
  12. Sprinkle : half of the remaining fried Onions, half of the Green Chillies, a few Mint Leaves, a few chopped Coriander Leaves over the layer of the parboiled Rice.
  13. Pour : half the melted Butter, half the Milk, half the Kewra Jal and a few drops of Orange Food Color all-over the layer of the Rice.
  14. Sprinkle : half a teaspoon of Garam Masala and half the Julienned Ginger all-over the layer of the Rice.
  15. The first layer of the Chicken Biryani is now ready.
  16. Add and arrange a layer of the remaining pieces of Chicken over the first layer of Rice.
  17. Then, spread and cover the layer of the pieces of Chicken with the remaining parboiled Rice.
  18. Sprinkle the remaining : fried Onions, Green Chillies, Mint Leaves and chopped Coriander Leaves over the layer of the parboiled rice.
  19. Pour the remaining : melted Butter, Milk, Kewra Jal and a few drops of Orange Food Color all-over the layer of the Rice.
  20. Sprinkle the remaining : Garam Masala and Julienned Ginger all-over the layer of the Rice.
  21. Tightly Cover the Pan/ Cookware with Food Wrapping Aluminium Foil or Cover the Pan with a Lid and seal it with Cooking Dough.
  22. Cook the sealed Pan on a very slow flame for Twenty Five to Thirty Minutes.
  23. The Chicken Biryani is now ready. Stir and Mix all the Contents Gently.
  24. Serve Hot with Mint Raita/ Chutney, Sliced Onions and Enjoy.

Dark Circles - Remedies And Guidelines

1. Dark Circles can be removed by applying peeled and grated potato overnight at least three times a week.

2. Make cotton pads and dip them in cucumber juice. Place on your eyes for 15 minutes. The effect is cooling and relaxes your eyes.

3. Massaging eyes with almond oil is of great help. Massage at bed time daily, and in two weeks you will see the difference.

4. When stressed, keep your eyes covered with cucumber slices for some time.

5. Dip cotton balls in rose water and keep over the closed eyes for 5-10 minutes.

6. Drink plenty of water in a day.

7. Dip cotton balls in chilled water and keep for 5-10 minutes on the eyes.

8. Take a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and avoid reading late at night, lying down.

9. Every morning, after washing your face, gently apply mixture of equal parts of tomato and lime juice; wash after half an hour.

10. Alternate hot and cold compresses under your eyes for 10 minutes. Then apply a teaspoon of almond oil mixed with half teaspoon of lime juice on the dark surface every night before going to bed.

11. For cooling effect to eyes paste of the herb nutmeg (Jaiphala) made with milk may be applied all around the eyes and over the eyelids.

12. Pressing the mount below index finger of the palm is good for eyesight and removing dark circles.

Remedies for Cholesterol Imbalance


1. Eat a clove of garlic every morning on empty stomach. In fact, the intake of garlic should be increased by adding it to daily food preparations as it lowers LDL cholesterol level and increases HDL.

2. Include ginger in your diet as it also reduces cholesterol and thins the blood which improves its circulation.

3. Take guggulu which reduces triglycerides

4. Eat more of raw food.

5. Eat barley. Its good if you replace rice with barley.

6. Have oatmeal regularly.

Ingredients

  • 1 big potato boiled and cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 2 tblsp spicy green chutney
  • 2-3 tblspn sweet chutney
  • 4 tbspn sev
  • 4 tblspn spicy groundnuts
  • black salt or kala namak as per taste 
  •  corriander leaves
  • 1 tspn chiili powder
  • 1 tspn chat masala powder
  • 1 tomato cut into small pieces
  • 1 big onion cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup sprouts ( can be green gram, channa dal etc)

Directions

  1. Boil the potato and cut into small cubes
  2. mix all the above ingredients in a bowl and serve with sev on top and few pomegranates seeds on top

 

 

Recipes:Egg Curry

Egg Curry 

Ingredients

    4 Hard Boiled Eggs
    1 onion Sliced
    1 teaspoon Garlic paste
    1/2 teaspoon Ginger paste
    1/4 teaspoon Pepper
    1 tablespoon Corriander Powder
    1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
    1/2 teaspoon Tumeric Powder
    1/2 teaspoon Chilli Powder
    1/4 cup Chopped tomatoes or Pureed is better
    Approx 1 1/4 cup Water
    1 tablespoon Vinegar
    Salt To taste
    Corriander leaves for garnish

Directions

  1. Cut up the hard boiled eggs into halves and set aside.
  2. In a pot put in 2 tablespoons oil, add the onions and fry. Then add the ginger paste and garlic paste. Put in the spices mix well. Put in the tomatoes or puree and mix well.
  3. Add Water to make a thick gravy and bring to a boil. Add salt and vinegar. Then slip in the hard boiled eggs and cook for another 5 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Tips

చిట్కా :

వాడని ఫ్లాస్క్  లో రెండు లవంగాలు వేస్తే పురుగు చేరదు. దుర్వాసన కూడ  రాదు .

Remedies

  1. Steaming can be done as often as twice a week but for no longer than 10 minutes at a time. This is a great way to clean out pores and loosen blackheads.
  2. Make a paste of ground radish seeds with water and apply on face to remove blackheads.
  3. Use an oatmeal or almond mask thoroughly to cleanse your face. Mix almond powder with enough rose water to make a soft paste that spreads easily on the skin. Rub it on your skin with your fingertips, paying special attention to the problem areas. Leave it to dry for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. This is very good in getting rid of blackheads.

Remedy- 1

Drink one cup warm water with one spoon honey.

Remedy- 2

Add half spoon 'Mustard powder' to the first morsel before eating food.

Remedy- 3

Mix half spoon 'Thymol seeds powder (Telugu:Vaamu; Hindi: Ajwain) powder in half cup water and boil the same to reduce to 1/4th glass. Filter the water and add a little salt and drink.

How to make Chicken 65


Chicken 65 is famous Indian recipe. It plays good role in Non - Veg meals. you can have it as a snack or a side-dish for meals

Ingredients:


Chicken 1/2 kg
1 tablespoon spice powder of Cloves, Cinnamon and Cardamom
2 tablespoons of ginger and Garlic paste
2 teaspoon Red chilies powder
2 Drops food coloring, Red(if needed)
2 teaspoon Corn flour
2 teaspoon Egg white
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Lemon (1/2)
Coriander leaves for garnishing

Steps:

  1. Cut the Chicken into medium size pieces. Wash and keep aside.
  2. Take a bowl and add Corn flour, Egg white, Chilly powder, ginger and garlic paste, spice powder, Salt, food color(if required) to thick batter.
  3. Add water if needed.
  4. Add chicken pieces to the batter and marinate for about one hour.
  5. Take a pan and heat the oil for frying.
  6. Deep fry the Chicken pieces till they turn golden.
  7. Add little lemon juice to taste.
  8. Garnish with Coriander leaves.

Tip: When washing the chicken apply small amount of turmeric powder in order to remove smell.

How To Make Fruit Custard:



Fruit Custard is a tasty yet a healthy dessert. There are many ways to make custard and various other ingredients to add.This is just one way to enjoy eating it.

Ingredients:

2 Cups of milk
3 teaspoons of custard powder
6-8 tsp. of sugar
Half cup of mixed fruits(apple,banana,strawberry,papaya,pomegranate etc.)

Making:

  1. Pour milk in a saucepan and start heating over a medium high heat.
  2. Combine the custard powder and a very small amount of water in a small bowl.Mix thoroughly.
  3. Add this mixture to boiling milk, stir continuously.
  4.  Add sugar as the milk starts to thicken.Continue stirring.
  5. Remove the mixture from the heat when it reaches the desired consistency.
  6. Allow the mixture to thoroughly cool.
  7.  Add chopped fruits and nuts.
  8.  Chill in refrigerator for half an hour.
  9. Serve.

Remedies for Measles

1. Turmeric, neem, lemon, and tulsi can be used internally as well as externally for the rashes.

2. A combination of pure turmeric powder 2 gms well mixed in 20 ml of fresh juice of tulsi leaves, consumed twice a day till the symptoms are cleared, is very effective remedy for the Measels.

3. Fresh neem leaves well pounded with some turmeric and sandalwood can be used as external paste.

4. If there is persistent cough, tulsi juice well mixed with honey can be given repeatedly.

5. Liquorice powder 2 gms along with 10 ml of honey is also a good home remedy to relieve sore throat and cough in measles.

6. Tribhuvan Kirti Ras in the dose of 1 tablet thrice daily with warm water.

7. Mahalaxmi Vilas Ras 1/2 tablet thrice daily.

  1. పసుపు, వేప, నిమ్మ మరియు తులసి దద్దుర్లు కోసం  బాహ్యముగా అలాగే అంతర్గతంగా ఉపయోగించవచ్చు.

  5.  మధురము పొడి 2 గ్రాములు ,తేనె 10 ml తో పాటు తీసుకుంటే కూడా  దగ్గు నుంచి ఉపశమనం కలుగును. ఇది  ఒక మంచి గృహ ఔషధము . 
  6. త్రిభువన్ కీర్తి రాస్ 1 టాబ్లెట్ మోతాదు లో రోజువారీ మూడుసార్లు వెచ్చని నీటితో  తీసుకోవాలి . 
  7. మహాలక్ష్మి విలాస్ రాస్ 1/2 టాబ్లెట్ రోజువారీ మూడుసార్లు తీసుకోవాలి  . 

What are the symptoms of measles?

Measles symptoms invariably include fever, together with at least one of the three C's (cough, coryza, conjunctivitis).

Symptoms will appear about 9-11 days after infection, and may include the following:
  • Coryza - runny nose (ముక్కు పడిశం - కారుతున్న ముక్కు)

  • Dry hacking cough (పొడిదగ్గు)

  • Conjunctivitis - swollen eyelids, inflamed eyes(కండ్లకలక - వాపు కనురెప్పలు, ఎర్రబడిన కళ్ళు)

  • Watery eyes(కళ్ళల్లో నీరు కారడం)

  • Photo phobia - sensitivity to light (ఫోటో భయం - వెలుతురు చూడలేకపోవడం)

  • Sneezing(తుమ్ముట )

  • Fever - this may be mild to severe and can reach 105F (40.6C) for a number of days. Fever may drop, and then rise again when the rash appears . (జ్వరం)

  • Koplik's spots - very small grayish-white spots with bluish-white centers in the mouth, insides of cheeks, and throat.

  • Aches generally all over the body.(శరీరం మీద నొప్పులు)

  • Rash - 3 to 4 days after initial symptoms a reddish-brown spotty rash appears. The rash can last for over a week. It usually starts behind the ears and spreads all over the head and neck. After a couple of days it spreads to the rest of the body, including the legs. As the little spots grow many of them will join together.
Although the majority of childhood rashes are not measles, you should take your child to the doctor if:
  • You suspect it could be measles.

  • Symptoms do not improve, or get worse.

  • The fever rises to above 38C (100F).

  • When the symptoms have gone, but the fever hasn't.
